Prior to this event and after the Nationals, I found out that I had a neck injury from work that I had been dealing with since 2019. Just days before this event I had my first cortisone injection into my neck. Just knowing that I actually had an injury and I was not just dreaming it up was very helpful for my mental state.
Coming off a really good Nationals I was feeling very good, apart from the above, entering into this match. As you can see in some of the scores below I had some really good stages with 3 stage wins.
What let me down at this match was my ammo. I have since figured out what the problem was that caused the light loads. In short, it was media left in the case and that caused the rounds to sound light and not shoot like a normal round. This cost me a lot in this match.
Valuable lessons learned from this match:
check your cases for media when using rice as media
back your own stage plans
change your glasses depending on the light presented on the stage
Fixes for these:
now using corn cob media with a booster solution and run the tumbler outside
train stages and drills to be more confident in own stage plans
I now have transition glasses which change as I need them too!
Enjoy the video and until next time, stay safe, keep on shooting and I'll catch you down the Range!
